Yuma Silver Spur Rodeo Volunteer Waiver

WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Please read the following carefully before signing.

In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in the Silver Spur Rodeo, Inc. (“Rodeo”) annual Yuma Jaycees’ Silver Spur Rodeo, annual Royalty Pageant and any other events held by Silver Spur Rodeo, Inc. (“Event”), I,________________________ (“Participant”), agrees as follows:

1. Participant shall inspect the facilities and equipment to be used, and if he/she believes anything is unsafe, or if Participant experiences symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, unusual fatigue, dizziness or fainting, or extreme pain, Participant agrees to immediately advise a representative of the Silver Spur Rodeo, Inc. and refuse to participate. Participant agrees to take all precautions necessary to avoid any unsafe area and agrees to refuse to participate in the Event.

2. Participant fully understands and acknowledges that:

(a) There are risks and dangers associated with participation in the Event and activities, which could result in bodily injury, partial and/or total disability, paralysis and death.

(b) The social and economic losses and/or damages, which could result from these risks and dangers described above, could be severe.

(c) These risks and dangers may be caused by the action, inaction or negligence of the Participant or the action, inaction or negligence of others, including, but not limited to, the Releasees named below.

(d) There may be other risks not known or that are not reasonably foreseeable at this time.

3. Participant accepts and assumes such risks and responsibility for the losses and/or damages following such injury, disability, paralysis or death, however caused and whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasees named below.

4. Participant hereby forever RELEASES, WAIVES, DISCHARGES, AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE SILVER SPUR RODEO, INC OR THE FACILITY USED FOR THE EVENT, INCLUDING THEIR OWNERS, MANAGERS, MEMBERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AGENTS, AND INVITEES, ALL OF WHICH FOR THE PURPOSES HEREIN ARE REFERRED TO AS “RELEASEES,” FROM ALL LIABILITY TO THE PARTICIPANT, AND PARTICIPANT’S PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES, ASSIGNS, EXECUTORS, HEIRS AND NEXT TO KIN, FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, LOSSES OR DAMAGES AND ANY CLAIMS OR DEMANDS THEREFORE ON ACCOUNT OF ANY INJURY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE DEATH OF THE PARTICIPANT OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE EVENT, CAUSED OR ALLEGED TO BE CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE.

5. Participant hereby acknowledges that the activities of the event are very dangerous and involve the risk of serious injury and/or death and/or property damage. Participant also expressly acknowledges that injuries received may be compounded or increased by negligent rescue operations or procedures of the Releasees.

6. Participant further expressly agrees that the foregoing waiver, release of liability, and assumption of risk agreement (“Waiver”) is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the State of Arizona and that if any portion is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.

I HAVE READ THIS WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND HAVE SIGNED IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE, OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME AND INTEND MY SIGNATURE TO BE COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW. Yuma Silver Spur Rodeo Job Details

Ticket Booth Attendant

sale tickets at gate at each performance of the rodeo (3 total)

Ticket Scanner

scan tickets at gate for all incoming spectators for the rodeo performances (3 total)

Seating Usher

assist spectators in locating their seats according to their tickets (not assigned seating but areas are Grandstand and General Admission and Box Seating) for 3 rodeo performances

Raffles

sale 50/50 raffle tickets during all three (3) rodeo performances

Souvenir Booth

sale t-shirts, hats and rodeo memorabilia at the official merchandise booth

Beverages/Concessions

work at designated areas serving alcohol and/or sodas & water during the rodeo performances (3)

Security, West Gate and Stall Rentals

working overnight shifts to secure entry gate for contestants, etc. Must do checks during the night on livestock and grounds.

VIP Hospitality Tent for Sponsors

serve food to Sponsors and public who has purchased tickets. In charge of keeping the entire area clean of trash, etc. Wiping down tables, throwing away used food items, etc. MUST BE APPROVED BY VIP CHAIRMAN TO WORK IN THIS AREA

Grounds

emptying trash cans, picking up trash around facility, assist setting up chairs, hanging banners, etc.

Seating and Banners

set up chairs in Box Seating areas (lower and upper); VIP area and elsewhere. Hang sponsor banners on bleachers and along rodeo arena fencing, main entrance gates, etc. Responsible for taking down the banners at end of weekend and taking inventory. Responsible for packing up chairs and doing count of chairs

Arena Worker

work in the arena, work in the livestock pens MUST BE APPROVED BY ARENA CHAIRMAN TO WORK IN THESE AREAS

Money Room

responsible for all monies for the rodeo, sorting banks for different locations, providing change when needed, etc MUST BE APPROVED BY BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Other

for volunteers who want to help but have not been assigned to a specific area. Volunteer Coordinator will assign to a job once confirmed who is needing assistance

Beverage Ticket Sellers

work areas to sell tickets for the purchase of beer and liquor MUST BE APPROVED BY BEVERAGE CHAIRMAN

Tough Enough to Wear Pink

sell saddle raffle tickets in souvenir booth and/or in seating areas, work in souvenir booth selling products, etc.
