Main Parking Team Supervisor Leads a parking team of two or three volunteers. They ensure that their team is parking vehicles in accordance with the published parking plan. They will work under the supervision of a Parking Chair Committee team member and direct the actions of parking lot volunteers who can be as young as 15. Must have good communication skills, team oriented, energetic, and friendly. Scans prepaid parking ticket QR codes via phone-based app. This position will be operating in the main vehicle entrance to the Festival and Rodeo. This is a fast-paced position that requires proficiency with technology and is a critical position to ensure that traffic flows smoothly off Valley Center Road and into the parking lot. The volunteer must have a smart phone and be willing to install the scanning app on that phone for use. Duties include, directing slow moving traffic, public engagement, vehicle exit control, traffic device movement within the parking lots, and communicating lot status and activities to the Main Parking Supervisors. The volunteer must have the ability to move rapidly within a parking environment, giving specific directions to drivers when necessary. The volunteer works under the supervision of the Team Leader giving direction to vehicles for where and how to park. This position operates in the main parking area. Volunteer supervises activities in the kid's area. Duties include taking tickets for and supervising inflatable slides and ensuring the area is kept safe and clean. Volunteer must like children and have a positive / friendly attitude. The Beer Server volunteer will work out of the Beer/Beverage booth checking for pre-issued wrist bands and serving the customer an alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic canned beverage. The volunteer must be at least 21 and be customer friendly. This position may rotate with I.D. Checker and Ticket Seller. The I.D. Checker volunteer will work near the Beverage Booth. They will check I.D.s according to ABC Training, then issue wristbands to qualified buyers. The volunteer must be a minimum of 21 years old and be customer friendly. The Beer Ticket Sales volunteer will work near the Beverage Booth and sell beer/beverage tickets to qualified customers. The Ticket gate Volunteer is responsible for scanning QR Codes of patrons entering the Rodeo Gate. They must be good with technology and apps. They should be able to work in a very busy environment and be able to stand for long-periods of time. They should be at least 17 years old and customer friendly. The T-Shirt/Merchandise Volunteer will be in the T-Shirt sales Canopy selling to the public. This volunteer must be able to use a Point Of Sale Machine and be customer friendly. he minimum age for this position is 17. -Technologically savvy -Customer Friendly -Minimum 17 Years of age -Works for the T-Shirt Chair All Volunteers will receive a signed Letter of Appreciation and documentation for school/military volunteer time sheets.
This volunteer can be assigned to various positions, including access gates, VIP, or grandstands. They can also be asked to conduct parking lot patrol looking for suspicious activity. The volunteer in this position will not be asked to conduct any physical intervention during normal duties. Gate positions will screen credentials for access. Inside the rodeo gates, the volunteer will be expected to keep handicap lanes (Ramps) and seating clear of people. They can be expected to ask patrons to move closer together to help with seating. This volunteer must be mentally strong, able to utilize a radio and know when to ask for Paid Security or Law Enforcement help. This volunteer must have self-control in stressful situations and be able to interact with patrons tactfully while ensuring adherence to rodeo policies concerning gates, grandstands, and parking areas. During the event, there will be both Law Enforcement and Paid Security Personnel available for intervention. As a note, our event has had very few security-related incidents. Only one patron has been asked to leave in the past six years. This volunteer helps the Rodeo and Festival Committee clean up the grounds after the event is over. Most of the cleanup happens on Sunday and Monday 8:00A to 4:00P. A volunteer that signs up for this can work as their time permits. There is no set hour requirement.
