Main Parking Team Supervisor
Main Parking Team Supervisor Leads a parking team of two or three volunteers. They ensure that their team is parking vehicles in accordance with the published parking plan. They will work under the supervision of a Parking Chair Committee team member and direct the actions of parking lot volunteers who can be as young as 15. Must have good communication skills, team oriented, energetic, and friendly. Ideal person is an adult that is physically fit, can work in the heat of the day and think fast and make adjustments as parking lanes fill up. -Adult -Leader -Physically Fit -Quick Thinker -Energetic -Works for the Main Parking Chair and Co-Chairs All Volunteers will receive a signed Letter of Appreciation and documentation for school/military volunteer time sheets.
Main Parking Ticket Scanner
Scans prepaid parking ticket QR codes via phone-based app. This position will be operating in the main vehicle entrance to the Festival and Rodeo. This is a fast-paced position that requires proficiency with technology and is a critical position to ensure that traffic flows smoothly off Valley Center Road and into the parking lot. The volunteer must have a smart phone and be willing to install the scanning app on that phone for use. Minimum age of 17, physically fit, technologically savvy and can work in the heat of the day. -Minimum age 17 -Physically Fit -Good with technology -Can work in heat of day -Works for the Main Parking Chair and Co-Chairs All Volunteers will receive a signed Letter of Appreciation and documentation for school/military volunteer time sheets.
Main Parking Lot Attendant
Main Parking Volunteers help control vehicle traffic into the main parking area. Duties include, directing slow moving traffic, public engagement, vehicle exit control, traffic device movement within the parking lots, and communicating lot status and activities to the Main Parking Supervisors. The volunteer must have the ability to move rapidly within a parking environment, giving specific directions to drivers when necessary. The volunteer works under the supervision of the Team Leader giving direction to vehicles for where and how to park. This position operates in the main parking area. It is a fast-paced position requiring stamina and ability to take directions from their supervisor. Minimum age of 15, physically fit and can work in the heat of the day. -Minimum age 15 -Physically Fit -Can work in heat of day -Works for the Main Parking Chair and Co-Chairs under the supervision of a Main Parking Supervisor All Volunteers will receive a signed Letter of Appreciation and documentation for school/military volunteer time sheets.
Back Parking Supervisor (Contestant, Vendors, Volunteers)
Back Parking Team Supervisor Leads a parking team of three to four volunteers. They ensure that their team is parking vehicles in accordance with the published parking plan. They will work under the supervision of the Back Parking Chair and direct the actions of parking lot volunteers who can be as young as 15. Back Parking lot attendant (Contestant, Vendors, Volunteers)

Kid's Activity Area Supervisors
Volunteer supervises activities in the kid's area. Duties include taking tickets for and supervising inflatable slides and ensuring the area is kept safe and clean. Volunteer must like children and have a positive / friendly attitude. This position requires a cursory background check through the San Diego Sheriff Department utilizing a standard form and a copy of a driver's license. -Minimum age 17 -Child Friendly -Energetic -Can pass a basic background check. -Works for Vendor Chair All Volunteers will receive a signed Letter of Appreciation and documentation for school/military volunteer time sheets.
Beer Servers/I.D. Checkers / Beer Ticket Sales
The Beer Server volunteer will work out of the Beer/Beverage booth checking for pre-issued wrist bands and serving the customer an alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic canned beverage. The volunteer must be at least 21 and be customer friendly. This position may rotate with I.D. Checker and Ticket Seller. The I.D. Checker volunteer will work near the Beverage Booth. They will check I.D.s according to ABC Training, then issue wristbands to qualified buyers. The volunteer must be a minimum of 21 years old and be customer friendly. The Beer Ticket Sales volunteer will work near the Beverage Booth and sell beer/beverage tickets to qualified customers. The Volunteer must be a minimum of 21 years old and be customer friendly. -Minimum age 21 -Customer Friendly -Works for Beer/Beverage Chair
Ticket Gates
The Ticket gate Volunteer is responsible for scanning QR Codes of patrons entering the Rodeo Gate. They must be good with technology and apps. They should be able to work in a very busy environment and be able to stand for long-periods of time. They should be at least 17 years old and customer friendly. Other duties include manning the exit gate providing handstamps to patrons exiting the Rodeo. -Technologically Savvy -Customer Friendly -Must be 17 years of age -Capable of standing for long periods. -Works for the Ticket Gate Chair All Volunteers will receive a signed Letter of Appreciation and documentation for school/military volunteer time sheets.
T-Shirt/Merchandise Sales
The T-Shirt/Merchandise Volunteer will be in the T-Shirt sales Canopy selling to the public. This volunteer must be able to use a Point Of Sale Machine and be customer friendly. he minimum age for this position is 17. -Technologically savvy -Customer Friendly -Minimum 17 Years of age -Works for the T-Shirt Chair All Volunteers will receive a signed Letter of Appreciation and documentation for school/military volunteer time sheets.
Security Observer (Gates and Grandstands)
This volunteer can be assigned to various positions, including access gates, VIP, or grandstands. They can also be asked to conduct parking lot patrol looking for suspicious activity. The volunteer in this position will not be asked to conduct any physical intervention during normal duties. Gate positions will screen credentials for access. Inside the rodeo gates, the volunteer will be expected to keep handicap lanes (Ramps) and seating clear of people. They can be expected to ask patrons to move closer together to help with seating. This volunteer must be mentally strong, able to utilize a radio and know when to ask for Paid Security or Law Enforcement help. This volunteer must have self-control in stressful situations and be able to interact with patrons tactfully while ensuring adherence to rodeo policies concerning gates, grandstands, and parking areas. During the event, there will be both Law Enforcement and Paid Security Personnel available for intervention. As a note, our event has had very few security-related incidents. Only one patron has been asked to leave in the past six years. Post Event Cleanup Volunteer
This volunteer helps the Rodeo and Festival Committee clean up the grounds after the event is over. Most of the cleanup happens on Sunday and Monday 8:00A to 4:00P. A volunteer that signs up for this can work as their time permits. There is no set hour requirement. All help is appreciated -Willing to give a hand -Wear work clothes -Works for the Grounds Chair All Volunteers will receive a signed Letter of Appreciation and documentation for school/military volunteer time sheets.
Pre-Event Setup Volunteer
This volunteer helps the Rodeo and Festival Committee prepare the grounds for the event. There are all types of jobs that need to be done. These range from ground marking, canopy setup, corral panel movement, etc... All help is appreciated. -Willing to work -Wear Work Clothes -Works for Grounds Chair Shifts up to two-weeks prior Usually on weekdays from 4:00P to 8:00P Weekends 8:00A to 5:00P Please tell us what time you are available in the comment box of the form. Volunteer Sign In
This Volunteer assists the Volunteer Chair in signing in and out volunteers during the event. This volunteer should be well-organized, friendly and engaging. This volunteer should be at least 16 years old -Organized -Friendly -Engaging All Volunteers will receive a signed Letter of Appreciation and documentation for school/military volunteer time sheets
Vendor Chair Assistant
This volunteer will assist the Vendor Chair in various functions assigned. Duties include directing vendors to their assigned spots, communicating vendor concerns to the Vendor Chair and physically relaying messages from the Vendor Chair to Vendors as required.
